Yas Island Case Study

Welcome to Yas Island Abu Dhabi

Yas Island Case Studies

‘Miral Cloud Migration’ project includes world’s most famous and large-scale Theme Parks like; Ferrari World, Yas Water World, Warner Bros and Clymb

The scope of these projects pursued by the IPERA includes WiFi onboarding (Guest WiFi Engagement), location analytics, WiFi marketing, and Indoor IoT Tracking. Thanks to IPERA and its services, applications for physical venues and theme parks and guest WiFi analytics was provided. During the ‘MIRAL Migration to Cloud Project’, were cooperated with FARAH Miral.

The transition from On-Premise to Cloud provides our Yas Island customers with the required cloud space, security, and real-time access. IPERA provided some maintenance and technical support for the systems at the MIRAL Migration Project. By using Cloud systems, our customers can focus on the main responsibilities of their work, which are productivity and the efficiency of the cost.

In terms of cost efficiency, Cloud systems are more advantageous in terms of cost efficiency and data security compared to On-Premise systems. Furthermore, the main difference between the two systems is that you need less IT (Information technology) staff for Cloud systems. And that means savings occur due to fewer devices, fewer staff, and less space. Also in this project, seamless roaming and seamless guest experience on the ABU DHABI YAS ISLAND, where large theme parks such as Ferrari World, Yas Water World, Warner Bros World, and Clymb are located, were achieved as the main goal.

Within the scope of the MIRAL Cloud Migration project carried out by IPera, the transformation from On-Prem to Cloud happened in September 2022, and the planning began in July 2022. The first data intake happened on 13 October 2022. When this transformation occurred, IPERA faced some difficulties, including the orientation of the control and CMX settings.

By transforming large-scale projects from On-Prem to the Cloud, IPERA has gained many experiences. Also, for these projects, better and faster services were provided by IPERA. Thanks to the transformation from On-Premise to Cloud, our customers will spend fewer resources and they will get 7/24 fast and high-quality services. Moreover, they will rapidly access new versions of IPERA’s Starling Guest WiFi cloud platform seamlessly. The other advantage of the Cloud is that while visitors use Cloud systems, they can utilize a seamless roaming experience.

Kubernetes makes the difference!

This digital transformation project in the MIRAL differs from other transformation projects. In this project, IPERA used Kubernetes, which is a significant step in the digital transformation of companies. Kubernetes makes accessible the work of software developers, and it provides serious optimization by automating most of the DevOps processes. By utilizing Kubernetes, IPERA also saved costs compared to other transformations in these projects.

In this sense, flexibility and scalability are essential benefits of using Cloud systems in large-scale projects like Miral Cloud Migration. Customers do not have to allocate hardware and technical staff in case of some requirements. Thus, maintenance of the system is more accessible in necessary conditions. Because the responsibility belongs to IPERA, which causes cost savings for the MIRAL organization. Although some firms still prefer to keep On-Prem, step by step more organizations will use Cloud services. Because the transformation from On-Prem to Cloud services has numerous advantages. We are sure that migrating such large-scale and famous theme parks to the Cloud will also positively impact IPERA’s other customers.
